What we collect and why

• Location. Your start point when you plan a route, and your position when you check in at a stop, to confirm you are inside its check-in zone (150 m for landmarks and parks, 50 m elsewhere). During a trip you start, the iPhone app uses location in the background only to tell you when you reach a stop; those positions stay on your phone.
• Nickname and colour. The name and colour you pick are what friends, trip-mates and the public leaderboard see. Your email and real name are never shown to other people.
• Friends. People you add with your friend code or QR can see your passport: stamps, province map, level and photos you haven't hidden.
• Leaderboard. The all-time leaderboard shows your nickname, colour, level, XP, stamp and province counts, never photos. Your nickname can also appear publicly as a province's champion and as the "Regular" of a place you visit often (never on a partner shop's place). Hiding yourself in Friends → Leaderboard removes you from all three.
• Ride along. While a trip you started or joined is running (12 hours at most), your position is shared only with the people on that trip. It is deleted when the trip ends or you leave it.
• ETA link. If you share your arrival time while navigating, anyone with the link can see, without an account, your live position, your destination, your arrival time and your nickname and avatar, for up to 6 hours. Sharing stops when you tap Stop sharing, end navigation or check in at a stop from navigation, and after 6 hours at most.
• Shared trips. If you share a planned trip, anyone with its link can see a page with your nickname and avatar, the stops and times, the route line and the trip's start and end. A start or end at "Your location" is never stored: the page starts at the first stop and ends at the last one, so it never shows where you are or where you live. Shared trips are deleted with your account.
• Photo at check-in. One photo per check-in, of anything you like (you, the view, the food). We don't analyse faces or run face recognition. Your photos make up your passport album. You, your friends and people on a ride-along trip with you (for photos taken during that trip) can see them; if you choose to share a photo on a place's page, anyone can see it there. Photos of check-ins that weren't accepted (rejected, or GPS too imprecise to verify) are deleted after 30 days, and so are uploads that never became a check-in. If you nominate a shop, its photo isn't shown to anyone else: we keep it for up to 30 days after the nomination goes live, expires or is turned down, in case we need to check the place, then delete it. All other photos are kept until you delete your account; to remove a single photo, email us.
• Bookings. When you book a partner shop through the app, that shop sees your nickname, the day, your party size, your note, and whether the booking was completed by your check-in there.
• Account. A random ID for guests. If you sign in, your email address and which sign-in you used (Apple, Google or email).
• Check-ins, stamps, coupons and routes you make in the app.
• Purchases. If you buy Giggles Plus, the payment is handled by Apple or Stripe. We store only the subscription's ID, dates and status, never card details.
• App integrity. The iPhone app sends an Apple App Attest signature with check-ins so we can tell real devices from fake ones. It doesn't identify you.

What we don't do

• No advertising tracking and no selling of personal data.
• Partner shops see how many verified visits they received, never who visited, except bookings you make with them (see Bookings).

Where it is stored

Data is stored with Supabase (servers in Singapore). Payments go through Apple and Stripe under their own privacy policies.

Your choices

• Delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your account, check-ins, stamps, coins and photos. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.
• You can turn off location, camera and notifications in your phone's settings; check-in needs location and a photo.

We follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). To ask for a copy of your data or a correction, email us.
